Cover artwork for the German doom metal band CROSS VAULT. This illustration was inspired by a scene from George Orwell's 1984. Working from a book (especially one that has already been translated into a movie) can be difficult, but this being a story that when i first read, i had such vivid imagery in my head of what the world that the characters live in must look like, i was very excited to attempt to render the dystopian scape that Orwell constructs for his readers.
